Pregnancy can be a mystifying time for any woman, whether it is her first pregnancy or whether she has been through it many times before. Your body changes is unusual ways and does strange things that may make you wonder just what is happening inside you. Most pregnancy symptoms are a direct result of changes in hormone levels and the development of the baby in your womb.

Some of the hormonal changes of late pregnancy inspire a woman to begin nesting - preparing a place for her baby. These feelings may be accompanied by a burst of energy. This is a good opportunity for you and your partner to work together to prepare for the baby.

Stages of Pregnancy

First Trimester Pregnancy

The first stage of pregnancy brings with it several changes. During the first trimester pregnancy symptoms include a difference in your breasts, exhaustion, nausea and you might need to rush to the bathroom often. And you know what? Your baby stage during pregnancy, that is, the first trimester will actually show a heartbeat and moving tiny limbs! During the second month, that is, pregnancy 7 weeks, your baby will have a face and start developing various vital organs.

Some women also feel quite emotional at this stage, so if you find yourself welling up at television adverts, don’t panic! It’s simply hormones buzzing around your body

Second Trimester Pregnancy

Most women find the second trimester of pregnancy to be easier than the first. But it is important to stay informed about your pregnancy during these months. You might notice that symptoms like nausea and fatigue are going away. But other new, more noticeable changes to your body are now happening. Your abdomen will expand as you gain weight and the baby continues to grow. And before this trimester is over, you will feel your baby beginning to move!

Skin Changes, Stretch Marks and Increasing Belly Size

The uterus has grown to the height of the belly button, making the pregnancy visible. You may notice that skin pigmentation may change on the face or abdomen due to the pregnancy hormones. This usually disappears after pregnancy. If you continue to experience pigmentation problems after birth, though, make an appointment with a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon who can help treat the problem.

Weight Gain

Everyone gains weight at different rates. On average, it is normal to gain about one pound per week, or about three to four pounds per month during this trimester.

Third Trimester Pregnancy

This is the last of the three stages of pregnancy. Some would refer to this as the home stretch. There will be a lot of changes in you and your baby. These are the last months when your baby is becoming fully formed. You will also experience some interesting medical side effects because of the pregnancy. At this time, you should start taking any classes involved in the process. Childbirth classes will teach you about what happens on the big day. They will also teach you relaxation and breathing techniques that will help you relax when you are going through labor.
